With great excitement, playmaker Josh Tomas is returning to the Bay Area Panthers. Simultaneously, this will be Tomas’ second campaign playing for the Indoor Football League.
Tomas dazzled for Bay Area in 2024, producing 1,039 all-purpose yards in 16 games. He also found the end zone on four occasions. Whether as a runner, receiver or returner, Tomas is one of the most dynamic athletes that the IFL has to offer.
After cracking Bay Area’s starting receiving corps last season, Tomas will see most of his snaps at running back in 2025. With that, Panthers Head Coach Rob Keefe is thrilled to continue working with him going forward.
“[Tomas] has big-play ability and has the skill to change speeds, accelerate, and shake defenders to win all throughout the field,” Coach Keefe asserted. Naturally, those are attributes that render useful at all levels of football.
Prior to joining the IFL, Tomas was a star receiver at Georgetown University. From 2018 to 2022, he played in 43 total games for the Hoyas. Throughout that time, Tomas registered 227 catches for 2,835 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.
Over his collegiate career, Tomas also logged 57 carries for 376 yards and two rushing scores. When you factor in the return game, he added another tuddy (23 TD in all) and brought his all-purpose total to 4,643 yards with the Hoyas. He even completed a 32-yard pass as a senior.
Tomas earned All-Patriot League honors in 2021 and 2022. Additionally, he was named as an FCS All-American in 2022 by the Associated Press and Phil Steele. In 2023, he graduated from Georgetown with a degree in Economics.
A native of University Park, IL, Tomas played prep ball at nearby Crete-Monee High School. He was a brilliant student-athlete for the Warriors, making the high honor roll all four years while competing in football and baseball. On the gridiron, he was designated as an All-State Honorable Mention prior to graduating in 2018.
Upon re-signing with Bay Area last October, Tomas declared, “It was really a no-brainer to come back to the Panthers. We have some unfinished business.” With that, don’t miss what Tomas has in store for 2025.
