FBS Product Tyrese Chambers Joins the Bay Area Panthers for the 2025 Indoor Football League Season
One of college football's most dynamic pass catchers of all time, Tyrese Chambers—a 6-foot-1 wideout with breakaway speed— comes to Bay Area after a decorated collegiate career.
Most recently, Chambers played football at the University of Maryland, College Park. In 2023, he was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team. He appeared in six contests for the Terrapins, finding the end zone against Michigan State in Week 4 and later contributing to the team’s 31–13 victory over Auburn in Nashville’s Music City Bowl.
Chambers was named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List in both the 2021 and 2022 seasons while at Florida International University. During those two campaigns, he dazzled Miami-Dade County fans. In 20 total games played for the FIU Panthers, he recorded 96 receptions for 1,618 yards and 13 touchdowns.
His most prolific showing at FIU came in 2021. Across 12 games, Chambers hauled in 45 catches for school single-season records of 1,074 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. A devastating deep threat, Chambers averaged 23.9 yards per catch—the best in the FBS that year. He was selected for Pro Football Network All-American honors and earned Second Team All-CUSA recognition for his contributions.
In 2022, Chambers made the Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List, the East-West Shrine Top 1000, and was named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Conference First Team. He graduated with degrees in Marketing and Liberal Arts.
Prior to FIU, Chambers starred in one season at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. He was spectacular at the FCS level in 2019, compiling 50 receptions for 811 yards and eight touchdowns for the Pioneers. Chambers was named an All-American, First Team All-Conference, NEC Rookie of the Year, and a Jerry Rice Award finalist—all in his first year at SHU.
Chambers also spent time at Tyler Junior College (TX) and Fort Scott Community College (KS), though he did not appear in any games for either program.
As a prepster, Chambers attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in his hometown of Baltimore, MD. On the gridiron, he was among Maryland’s top players, earning First Team All-State and First Team All-Metro honors his senior year. He lettered three times in football for the Engineers, racking up 1,175 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2017 alone.
In his free time, Chambers runs a nonprofit organization called the “Big Time Foundation.” He enjoys horseback riding, traveling, building relationships, giving back to his community, and anything sports-related.
