As a notable boost on offense, Trevon Alexander has signed with the Bay Area Panthers for the 2025 Indoor Football League season. That makes the 6-foot-2 receiver one of the top rookies-to-watch in the upcoming season.
Alexander is undoubtedly a top-tier athlete. He boasts an imposing frame at the wideout position while showcasing great straight-line speed and soft hands. These abilities allowed him to compete on both offense and defense throughout his college career.
Prior to joining the IFL, Alexander most recently played at Northwest Missouri State University.
Throughout his three years competing with the Bearcats, Alexander produced 76 receptions for 1,179 yards and a dozen touchdowns in 33 games. Eight of those 12 scores came as a senior in 2023, which brought him an invitation to mini camp with the NFL’s New York Jets.
Upon leaving NW Missouri (studying Sports Media), he was a two-time MIAA conference champion. Subsequently, he earned a graduate degree in Sports and Exercise.
When Bay Area Head Coach Rob Keefe was asked about Alexander’s signing for 2025, he joyfully explained, “Trevon is a talented ball winner and playmaker. He is smooth, subtle, and explosive, which allows his effortless burst to catch the defense off guard as he puts on the gas when going vertical.”
Alexander also played collegiately at the University of Northern Iowa. In 2019, he saw action in 10 games for the UNI Panthers, making multiple starts at linebacker and defensive back. Overall, he contributed 11 total tackles. He saw his first start in a contest against Iowa State, lining up at nickelback across from now-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.
Before college, Alexander was an honor-roll student and star athlete at his native Richmond High School (MO), where still holds the football team’s all-time (64) and single-season (35) marks for most touchdowns. He helped the Spartans win back-to-back conference titles, and once produced a school-record 275 receiving yards in a game. This was in addition to competing in basketball, baseball and track & field.
In the offseason, Alexander coaches high-school football back at his alma mater. From there, he works as a personal trainer and owner at Visionary Goals Fitness. When the time for relaxation finally rolls around, he enjoys fishing, hiking and playing video games.
Like New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito, Alexander is professionally represented by Sean Stellato at Stellato Sports.
