Summary

Biography

University of Minnesota Duluth graduate, Bill Atkins, enters his second season as a part of the Bay Area Panthers after a 2023 IFL championship with the team.  Atkins saved his best when it mattered most.  In the IFL National Championship game, he had an interception in the first half and deflected a fourth quarter pass that set up Marquise Bridges' interception return for a touchdown to ice the title win over Sioux Falls. 

As a rookie in 2022, Atkins was a key member of the secondary of Northern Arizona's IFL championship season, playing for defensive coordinator Rob Keefe. 

Atkins played UMD safety for three seasons, earning all-conference honors and team captain his senior year in 2019. His third year playing, Atkins had a career-high of 55 stops and a pair of pass breakups, totaling second on his team in tackles. Atkins set his career-high in unassisted stops with 15 throughout the year in 2017.
