Omari Carr

Omari Carr joins the Bay Area Panthers in 2025 as the Offensive Quality Control Coach & Equipment Manager. Fans of Silicon Valley prep football may recognize Carr’s name — he was one of the Central Coast Section’s premier running backs in 2009.

A product of San Jose’s Oak Grove High School, an institution known for producing NFL talent, Carr was an electric tailback for the Eagles. After a 2008 win, legendary Oak Grove head coach Ed Buller said: “Omari may not be big, but he is very strong and can take a hit. He is a threat to score a touchdown every time he touches the ball!”

Carr totaled 2,003 rushing yards his senior season — ranking second in California — while scoring 31 total touchdowns. He continued his football journey at San Jose City College, where he compiled 523 rushing yards and six touchdowns for the Jaguars.

At the semi-pro level, Carr competed for the Central Coast Barnstormers and the South Bay Patriots, gaining experience and insight across multiple levels of the game. His football IQ and on-field experience make him a valuable addition to Head Coach Rob Keefe’s staff.

Carr’s coaching resume includes stints at Leland High School (San Jose), Live Oak High School (Morgan Hill), and with San Jose Hit Squad youth football. He currently owns and operates Carr Training Athletics, a performance-focused program that specializes in speed and strength training for youth, high school, and college athletes.
