Bay Area Panthers

Mitch Lockett returns to the Bay Area Panthers in 2025 as a Football Operations Manager. Lockett is a Bay Area native, and brings a lifetime of gridiron experience to the Panthers.

Originally from Oakland, Lockett—a former defensive back—played prep football across the bay at Daly City’s Serramonte High School. From there, he started one season at City College of San Francisco before moving on to San Diego State University. Lockett also tried out for the Oakland Raiders.

Following his college days, Lockett found success in the Golden State Amateur Football League, playing several years for the Alameda County Knights, winning three championships along the way. Having coached all levels of football from Pop Warner to semi-pro, he was also a team owner for the Knights.

Lockett is back on Panthers Head Coach Rob Keefe’s staff, as he was also with Bay Area in 2024.
