Jerry Buzzetta enters his third campaign as Success Mentor for the Bay Area Panthers organization, having worked with Head Coach Rob Keefe in each season.
In Buzzetta’s Success Mentor position, he acts as an advisor. His duties are (but not limited to) making team-building and character-development presentations for the players on topics like overcoming adversity, mental toughness, how to be successful, what is a professional, faith as a power booster, living with pain, coping skills, parenting, finances and relationship building. Subsequently, he provides group and personal counseling sessions to all members of the Panthers.
Born and raised in Silicon Valley, Buzzetta played football, soccer and baseball at Campbell High School. From there, he attended Claremont Men’s College before graduating from San Jose State University.
Throughout his career, he attained California Life-Time Teaching and Substitute Teacher Credentials. Buzzetta also worked over 30 years as a first responder for San Jose Ambulance Company, the City of Santa Cruz, the City of Milpitas, and—most recently—the City of San Jose.Â
Buzzetta has taught Fire Science at various educational institutions including Mission College, San Jose Fire Department Training Academies, California State Fire Marshal Accredited Local Academy, South Bay Regional Public Safety Academy. Notably, Buzzetta established a Police & Firefighter Academy for Eastside Union High School District.
His teaching portfolio also includes substitute stints at Valley Christian HS, Ann Sobrato HS, Gilroy HS and Hollister HS. Buzzetta’s coaching contributions extend to Hollister Pop Warner and the aforementioned high schools. He even boasts 15 years officiating games for Peninsula Sports, Inc.
Buzzetta holds many professional certifications in the State of California, such as Incident Commander, Strike Team Leader, Hazardous Materials Responder, Urban Search & Rescue, Weapons of Mass Destruction. Additionally, he’s worked assignments with the United States Secret Service, Homeland Security and FBI.
Buzzetta also earned a certificate as a Master (Holistic) Life Coach. He is the founder/owner of BuzzettaQuette, LLC (BuzzettaQuette.com). At this time, he is enrolled and pursuing a Master of Science degree in Psychology.
Jerry has been with his high school sweetheart, Barbara, for nearly five and a half decades. They were married just over 45 years ago, have four adult children, seven grandchildren and enjoy traveling, family and time at the lake.
