Team Reporter Gabriel Santiago joins the Bay Area Panthers for the 2025 Indoor Football League season.
Gabriel—a native of San Leandro, CA—has previously worked for KNBR, FanDuel, SB Nation, Playboy, the San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders. He is well established within Bay Area sports media, and also hosted the California Golden Bears podcast on BLEAV Network alongside former-Cal quarterback and 2007 Armed Forces Bowl MVP Kevin Riley.
Collegiately, Santiago attended the University of California, San Diego wherein he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (minoring in Theatre). Before arriving in La Jolla, he studied at Chabot College, earning an Associate of Arts degree.
Gabriel was born and raised in the East Bay. He attended Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, CA, lettering for the Dons in football as well as track & field. Academically, Santiago graduated from AHS in the 85th percentile of his class.
Away from the gridiron, Gabriel enjoys spending time with his fiancée and dog. More often than not, he can be found shooting pool or skateboarding somewhere in the Golden State.
