For the first time in franchise history, the Bay Area Panthers have earned multiple league awards in the same week. Wide receiver
JT Stokes is the Offensive Player of the week and defensive back
Trae Meadows is the Defensive Player of the Week for their efforts in Monday's win over the San Diego Strike Force.
Stokes scored a career-best five touchdowns in the 75-40 victory. He caught four passes for 42 yards and three touchdowns plus three rushes for 44 yards and two scores, capped with a 36-yard TD run in the second half.
"It shows his work and dedication to be great," said Offensive Coordinator Dixie Wooten. "He's able to do it all for us with his ability to catch and run the football. He's been huge for us."
Meadows had two interceptions on the night, the final pick was returned 50 yards for a score to establish a franchise record for points in a game. He leads the team with five interceptions for the season. Although not an official statistic, Meadows also intercepted a pass on a two-point conversion attempt.
"Trae has been making plays all year and it was great for him to be recognized for having a game like that on huge stage," said Wooten.
The Panthers now have six players who have won a weekly award in the 2023 season: Stokes and Meadows follow quarterback

Darin Hungerford and
Wes Bowers.
Bay Area ends the regular season on the road at Duke City with a 2:05 Pacific Time kickoff. The Panthers are 9-5 on the year and will host the first-round playoff game at the SAP Center on Sunday, July 23 at 3:05 pm.
